Hi, my name is Tamarin from Tippy Toes Foundation in South Africa. I wanted to quickly tell you little bit about this amazing foundation and what the $20 you spend getting your website reviewed goes towards, at Website IDOLS
The Foundation was started because me and so many others were so tired of seeing children with no shoes, no warm clothes and usually hungry!
We decided to do something about it, because if we don’t- who is going to?
This foundation is in memory of my grandfather who we called papa Tippy. He was taken from us suddenly by cancer. Tippy toes is also so named because we need to be the tippy toes to help these kids reach as high as they possibly can.
The community I have been involved in for the past year and a half is just past Melkbos (just outside Cape Town), down a dusty road and almost completely forgotten about. There are also another 2 communities like this one further down the road and maybe another 4 communities in the surrounding area’s- all struggling. There are roughly 50 children who walk the rocky roads without shoes and who go looking for firewood for their parents in the cold.
I have chosen this community to help, not only because of all the children but because no-matter what this community is faced with they help each other (some parents have adopted children not their own), the children go to school (500 children with NO running water and 2 grades go together in one ‘class room”) and they go to church (learn to respect everyone and be thankful).
The children and parents are so grateful for anything they receive. Helping people who want to be helped definitely makes the process easier.
I have received a break down of what these people need and have sizes for shoes and clothes. They need blankets and some beds (up to 3 children on one mattress on the floor). I also want to build a huge, sustainable veggie garden- not sure about the weather but will see how it goes.

Giving often helps more than receiving and it is what needs to be done. From there I want to move out to all the other communities and then eventually improve the school and education in general and in turn give these children a hope at a fair future.
I just feel that these days the only way we can help is by giving money and that is not always enough, we need to do more and get involved in people’s lives.
