to clearly articulate who you are, what you do and how you do it best.Answering the question, Sean says the truth is there’s a time and place for networking–any time and any place!
Every minute you’re around other human beings is a chance to network and build relationships
Self-made billionaires are known for their tendency to network everywhere and all the time. Many say that flying business class has helped them network with a higher network of people
To answer, what seem to be Australian Business biggest question “Where do I network” Sean breaks down your network into two categories: your existing clients your new Ideal clients.
Unfortunately most business underestimates the power of your existing contacts. You need to maintain your relationship with your existing contact base as they more than likely know or spend time with your ideal
clients, who are just like them.
If you are looking for new clients; where you network is influenced by the type of people you want to meet and build long term business relationships with to empower your business.
So, do you have a specific outline of the type of people you want to meet?
A great place to start to refine your ideal client is to review your existing portfolio. Look at their defining characters, what they have in common and then consider where can you find these people.
Be specific on defining their location, size, industry, turnover, problems they face and values they share, so you can summarise the outline into a neat paragraph so you can tell people.
It will be easier for your raving fans to recommend and refer you onto their contacts if you are specific on who you want to meet.
Alternatively, to discover which events your ideal clients are attending, starting by asking your existing clients where they go to network or events they like attend.
When you are attending a networking event, I also suggest you tell people who you want to meet at the event, that way you can get people to help you find your ideal client at the functions you attend.
